An adventurous expedition that goes beyond the classic circuit — Lake Manyara, Hadzabe cultural encounters at Lake Eyasi, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti, then north to the remote volcanic landscapes of Lake Natron beneath the sacred Mountain of God, before circling back through Tarangire's elephant herds.
Your guide meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and escorts you to your lodge in Arusha. Settle into the lush gardens, enjoy a welcome drink as the sun sets behind Mount Meru, and prepare for the adventure ahead. As local Tanzanians, your guides know the country with unrivaled familiarity — you are in good hands from the moment you land.
Drive to Lake Manyara, nestled beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Explore the lush groundwater forests, search for the famous tree-climbing lions, and watch thousands of flamingos paint the alkaline lake pink. Blue monkeys, hippo pools, and ancient mahogany groves — all within a compact park of extraordinary biodiversity.
Start the day early with your guide for a visit to a Hadzabe village at Lake Eyasi. The Hadzabe, fewer than 2,000 strong, are among the last tribes preserving their ancestral hunter-gatherer traditions — untouched by tourism and globalisation. Join them for a sunrise hunt and witness how they move through the wild to find food. Afterwards, visit a Datoga village, known for farming and metalworking since migrating from Sudan and Ethiopia some 3,000 years ago. Watch the blacksmith craft beautiful ornaments and tools using techniques passed down through generations.
Descend 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater — the world's largest intact volcanic caldera and home to roughly 30,000 animals including the endangered black rhino. This natural amphitheatre offers your best chance to see all the Big Five in a single day. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor beside a hippo pool.
Your safari begins in the area the Maasai call the "serengit" — the land of endless plains. The Serengeti boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, hippos, and crocodiles. A UNESCO World Heritage Site for over forty years, its ecosystem supports more than 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras.
A full day exploring the Seronera Valley — famous for year-round wildlife. Carnivores like hyenas, lions, leopards, and cheetahs rest on rocky outcrops, scanning for prey on the open plains. The area is also home to buffalo, giraffes, hippopotamuses, impalas, topis, warthogs, and zebras. Morning and afternoon game drives ensure you catch the best light and the most active wildlife.
Depart the Serengeti and travel north toward the remote, dramatic landscapes of Lake Natron. The drive offers stunning contrasts — rolling savannahs to volcanic highlands — framed by the iconic silhouette of Ol Doinyo Lengai, the sacred Mountain of God. Check in to your wilderness camp with panoramic views over the shimmering soda lake. Watch flocks of flamingos dance along the surface as the surrounding mountains reflect in the calm alkaline waters. Spend the afternoon lounging by the camp's natural spring pool.
Embark on a guided exploration of the Lake Natron region. Walk along the lake's edge where thousands of flamingos create a living mosaic of pink against mineral-rich waters — perfect for photography. Explore nearby waterfalls, natural pools, and volcanic landscapes that reveal the raw beauty of this remote area. Visit a local Maasai village to learn about traditional customs, crafts, and daily life. Return to camp for sundowners as the sun sets over the soda lake in a blaze of amber and gold.
After breakfast, drive south to Tarangire — famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Game drive through the Silale Swamps and along the Tarangire River, where tree-climbing lions, leopards, and over 500 bird species await. The dry season sees one of the highest wildlife concentrations in all of Tanzania.
An early morning game drive takes you deep into Tarangire's most remote areas, including the Silale Swamps. Hundreds of elephants come to feed on the lush grass, joined by a remarkable variety of wildlife — including the park's famous tree-climbing lions, leopards, and huge African Rock Pythons. After a full morning of discoveries and a picnic lunch, depart for your next destination.
Rise before dawn to float silently above the endless plains. Watch sunrise paint the Serengeti gold as herds of wildebeest, giraffes, and elephants move beneath you. Land for champagne breakfast in the bush.
